Experience Highlights
Co-authored the Tier 1 Assessments of the potential health risks associated with exposure to two brominated flame retardants as
part of the USEPA’s Voluntary Children’s Chemical Evaluation Program Pilot (VCCEPP).  Documents were reviewed by a
independent panel of experts.

Assisted in the preparation of a technical document for use at former manufactured gas plants.  The document included guidance
on calculating risk-based target concentrations, soils screening levels, and setting action levels.

Conducted a Preliminary Endangerment Assessment (PEA) for the redevelopment of a former industrial site to a residential setting
which included a school, a park and new homes.

Conducted site visits and interviewed workers/journeymen to evaluate exposure to asphalt, particulates, and other associated
chemicals.

Assisted in the risk assessment of select fluoropolymer and fluorotelomer consumer articles that contain trace levels of
perfluorooctanoate.  Identified article use patterns and potential pathways of exposure.  Document was later reviewed by a
independent panel of experts.

Researched, reviewed, and summarized current scientific literature on biotoxins as potential weapons for terrorists.  Focus was
given on oral exposure such as ingestion of drinking water.

Evaluated indoor air quality by comparing the analytical data collected to health benchmarks, estimating soil gas for volatile organic
compound (VOC) impact, and evaluated ambient air concentrations by comparing to background levels.

Researched and collaborated with various federal and state agencies on assessing the Magnuson-Stevens Act Essential Fish
Habitat (EFH) survey at a site on the banks of Newark Bay.

Assisted in the development of various briefing documents including topics such as the state-of-the-science of chromium toxicity, a
review of the scientific literature pertaining to bioaccumulation and bioconcentration studies, and data organization and analysis.

Assisted in a Screening-Level Ecological Risk Assessment (SLERA) for a site located in Missouri.

Processed samples for a sediment remediation project in Newark Bay, New Jersey for characterization of contamination.

Provided litigation support for cases involving asbestos, dioxins, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).
